"Eco-Zone is a practical and innovative education program that is elevating the environmental consciousness of children and their families around Australia" Don Henry, Executive Director, ACF
Eco-Zone is a not-for-profit Association that creatively develops the competence of Australian children aged 6-11, and through them the broader community, to think and act in an environmentally responsible manner. It was originally developed and funded by An Meá to achieve its strategic goal to "help communities to think and act in a sustainable manner".
Eco-Zone educates children and the broader community through two channels; Australian Conservation Foundation's kids club - Earth Kids, and its leading position as the environmental cornerstone for Wakakirri - Australia's largest primary school performing arts event.
Eco-Zone's environmental resources for teachers and children can be found at www.eco-zone.com.au.

In 2005 our program involved more than 400 schools with 22,000 children and reached an entire community of 500,000 nationally. More highlights of our achievements are in our Annual Report (1 Mb).
So what makes Eco-Zone so effective? Eco-Zone programs provide hands-on environmental learning that are creative, engaging, involve an entire community and are backed up with effective lesson plans and tools that help implement National Environmental Education Strategy and State Policy.
Eco-Zone was established in 1997 by An Meá and founding parters Wakakirri and the Australian Conservation Foundation.
